Pookalam sized to the doorway, nilavilakku centred to it, banana stems framing the entrance without blocking it.

The idea
A threshold for a new house. Small, precise and cleared the same day — the point is the doorway, not a set.

- Fresh banana stems, cut morning of
- Polished dark stone left bare
How it is built
- 01
Sized to the door, not the porch
The pookalam diameter is set from the doorway width so it reads as a threshold. Larger and it becomes a rug, which is a different thing entirely.

Petals laid on stone, nothing adhesive
Nothing is glued or taped to the floor of a house someone is about to live in. It lifts clean the same day.

Stems that frame without blocking
Banana stems go outside the swing of the door and clear of the path. Guests carry things in; the entrance has to stay usable.
